How To Use New AI To Connect In Old Ways
AI tools are coming online everyday. And building digital assets with media that replicates for free is becoming easier by the second.
ChatGPT for research and writing.
Runway for video.
Midjourney for image generation and art creation.
ElevenLabs for text-to-speech and voice cloning.
You can walk into the future, but the stories you tell will be the same.
Because tech changes - human psychology doesn't.
Think of technology as the surface of the ocean—constantly shifting with waves and tides. Meanwhile, human psychology is like the deep ocean—calm, steady, and unaffected by the changes above.
So, no matter what you’re building, your content needs to do at least one of three things that scratch the itch of the human mind (preferably all three):
Educate, entertain, or inspire.
Use new tech to educate.
Humans are endlessly curious, like explorers charting new lands. Like those who drew the first maps, create content that helps someone else learn something new.
This is where I started with Wealest.com. I just wrote about the stuff I was learning on wealth creation and shared it for free. People read it, liked it, and started following me for more.
Now, I don’t know everything there is to know about the topic. And that’s where a lot of people get caught up. They think they need to know everything before they can teach someone else.
This is wrong!
There is always someone else behind you in the knowledge line who can benefit from what you know.
So share it for free and see if it adds value.
And with the help of AI, there’s plenty of interesting ways to get what’s stuck inside your head out into the world. You can make data visualizations, educational videos, tutorials, courses, and much more.
Give people actionable, useable information consistently and they’ll keep coming back.
Use new tech to inspire.
With everything I write, I try and light a fire under your ass. Because YOU are far more capable and powerful than society makes us believe.
I always go back to Steve Job’s secret insight that will change your life:
“When you grow up, you tend to get told that the world is the way it is, your life is just to live your life inside the world, try not to bash into the walls too much, try to have a nice family, have fun, save a little money.
That’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you.
And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.”
And so, all my writing aims to inspire action. Because action is the ultimate cure to anxiety. The more scary stuff you do, the less scared you are.
There are plenty of ways to inspire - you can write movies like me, or create visual art, or write poetry or play music, or start a motivational newsletter. And all of that is scalable. You create it once and send it out into the world for people to find.
Another way to inspire is to foster a sense of community and collaboration. That’s one of the reasons why I brand my newsletter as me “building in public beside you.”
Though I’ve met just a few of you, I try and envision 1,000 of you opening my email and reading these words.
It makes me feel less alone—less like a lone voice echoing into an endless canyon. Because YOU are on the other side of that canyon. And I’m grateful for you.
So find your people, share your work, build with friends. And inspire everyone you meet.
Try and make a new acquaintance feel like they are capable of far more than they think they are.
They won’t be a stranger for long.
Use new tech to entertain.
Movies are an escape from reality—a portal that takes you to a dream more vivid and magical than the everyday world. And I’ve made writing and producing movies, comedy, and entertainment my career of choice.
You can go even further than movies. Entertainment is one area in particular where AI is going to hand story tellers tools they’ve never had access to before.
You’ll be able to create virtual reality, AI-generated visuals, interactive content, and much more to transport people to entirely new worlds.
So start experimenting with telling stories and see what happens.
There’s only one rule: don’t be boring.
So go out and educate, entertain, or inspire - preferably all three!
I can’t wait to see it.
